Two men rescued after driving into icy Salt Lake City pond

Salt Lake City firefighters rescued two men after icy road conditions led their pickup to slip off the road and slide into an icy retention pond Wednesday.

The men were driving along Interstate 15 near Warm Springs Road, according to a news release. Eight firefighters rescued the men from the icy water.

According to the release, the crash was one of several between downtown Salt Lake City and 1300 South on Wednesday. The department asked that drivers pay special attention while driving in Inclement weather.
